What is CBD?
The abbreviation “CBD” stands for Cannabidiol. It is extracted from the hemp of marijuana plants and is proven to be the most important cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. However, it should be emphasized that CBD, unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), does not have a psychoactive effect on the human brain. CBD helps maintain various psychological processes by interacting with receptors in the nervous and immune systems. Furthermore, the body itself produces cannabinoids as part of the functions of the endocannabinoid system.
What are terpenes?
Terpenes are essential oils found in plants. There are around 200 terpenes in cannabis. They give cannabis its distinctive aroma. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids such as CBD and THC - this relationship is called the entourage effect.
Can I give my pet CBD?
Yes. Pets can benefit from CBD for many of the same conditions as humans: pain, seizures, inflammation. CBD is safe for use in pets, but their dosage will likely be much lower than yours (100mg- 500mg). Dogs have a higher concentration of cannabinoid receptors in their brain. This means they are very sensitive to THC. But a small amount of THC, such as the amount in a full-spectrum CBD hemp oil, is beneficial for animals. We recommend talking to a veterinarian (holistic veterinarian) before you start giving your pet CBD.
How does CBD interact with the body?
CBD interacts with the human body through the network of neurons and the endocannabinoid system. This system is spread throughout the body and has several receptors that bind to cannabinoids in order for CBD to reach the bloodstream. The chemical processes resulting from these interactions cause various reactions in the body. In the body, CBD acts as a catalyst. It optimizes the natural response to pain, but also to stress and anxiety. Let's understand better: CBD does not eliminate or prevent pain and anxiety, but it works on the nervous system to reduce the impact of both. It does this by sending signals that, essentially, instruct the body not to worry and to get on with its business.
What is the difference between CBD and THC?
Of the 500 different cannabinoids found in cannabis, THC is certainly the best known, although CBD is also starting to gain ground. Simply because THC (9-tetrahydrocannabinol) is the so-called “psychoactive” component of cannabis. Acting directly on the nervous system, it affects the functioning of the brain and can change perceptions, alter moods and transform behavior. THC is usually consumed for these effects that get you “high”. Unlike THC, CBD does not have such effects. Its role is actually the exact opposite: it tends to counteract the psychoactive properties of its bigger brother and sometimes delays them (it can even last longer). This explains its medical orientation.
What is the difference between hemp oil and CBD oil?
CBD hemp oil is made from hemp, while CBD cannabis oil is made from marijuana plants. CBD hemp oil will contain little to no THC. CBD cannabis oil can contain a significant amount of THC compared to CBD hemp oil. CBD cannabis oil can contain an equal amount of THC and CBD.

They far surpass other cannabinoids when it comes to fighting: pain, inflammation, nausea, panic attacks, anxiety, certain mental illnesses (schizophrenia, etc.), fibromyalgia, cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, rheumatoid osteoarthritis, diabetes, cancer, alcoholism. The list goes on and on and on. Remember that CBD mainly helps combat muscle and neuropathic pain. Symptoms that are difficult to alleviate with conventional treatments. Therefore, cannabidiol can work wonders in reducing painful symptoms of neurological origin and improving the quality of life of patients with fibromyalgia, for example.
Why does CBD work differently for each person?
CBD dosage will vary from person to person. This depends on several factors that will impact how CBD acts on the body: genetic predisposition, gender, biochemistry, overall health, tolerance, metabolism.
Will CBD oil create psychoactive effects?
The answer is NO. CBD is non-toxic, meaning it will not create a psychoactive state. THC and CBD are the most active compounds in the cannabis plant. THC is the toxic substance that provides the harmful sensations to the brain. CBD is the beneficial substance that provides health benefits.

What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system is the collection of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids, and enzymes involved in the production and breakdown of endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that occur naturally in our bodies. The two most studied endocannabinoids are anandamide and 2-AG. Most studies have been done on CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are located throughout most of the brain, while CB2 receptors are located primarily throughout the immune system.
How long does it take for CBD products to take effect?
The length of time it takes for CBD to take effect will depend on the route of administration. The fastest effect will be felt from smoking or vaping (onset of effects within minutes).
